Share Your Family Photos

Add your family snaps to this growing archive. Victorian grannies, Edwardian children, wartime Britain ... send them in!

Do you have shoeboxes filled with family photographs?

Photographs of people are the most popular on my website.

The content of a web site needs to be fresh to attract and keep visitors. Search engines like fresh content also. A web site that is updated frequently will rank higher than a web site that has grown stagnant. A search engine will visit a web site more often if there is a reason to do so.

jpg files usually work the best.

Please include some information about the people and place in the picture.

Scan the picture in JPG format with a resolution of 300 dpi, and send it as an e-mail attachment to The Webmaster

Note it is important to resize the image so that it fits on the screen. Include the text Bristol History in the subject line of your e-mail. Due to the large amount of spam and virus-laden e-mails I receive, I am not able to accept messages without the appropriate subject.

After I receive the photos, I'll upload them and let you know if I have any questions. If you don't hear from me, everything's fine.

We have received thousands of images from around the world and we'd like you to send us yours.

Be sure to include your name the way you'd like it to appear.

Why share your family tree?

We recommend you share your family tree for all the following reasons:

To make your family tree accessible to friends and other family members.

To facilitate exchanging information with other individuals around the world doing research on common ancestors.

To avoid duplication of effort and take advantage of research and information gathered by other family members and other researchers.
